the big push ...

...is a sponsored cycle ride from Brighton to Lands End. On 1 September 2009 a hearty band of explorers set out from Brighton to journey along path and road to the most Western point of the UK. The route is outlined below left. Its total distance is about 297 miles.

Since an unfortunate accident in May 2008, Oscar has been unable to walk.

Determined that this will not remain the case, he has travelled far and wide to find a solution, and stumbled across a therapist willing to spend the time to get him back on his feet. After only 6 weeks of treatment, Oscar is starting to regain some movement in his left leg...

This treatment is not available on the NHS, however, and does not come cheap, so his friends came together for a Big Push to raise money for his treatment and make the 'impossible' possible...

Oscar plans to complete the route with a specially adapted hand cycle...
